Marmetta, Santa Cruz Island, an occasional surf break on the south side of the island known to surfers throughout southern California. It is located to the west of Yellow Banks and breaks primarily during winter south swells. In the early 1960s, legendary Santa Barbara surfer and filmmaker, George Greenough, coined the name of the surf spot after his parents' sailboat, Marmetta.
